Sloane Crosley launched her new novel “Cult Classic”. A sur-real rom com novel, Crosley’s Cult Classic is out there to explore the present day human living aspect, the closed romantic chapters through some nuances of comedy. Lola, the hero of essayist, Crosley’s new novel comes across her exes one after another in the corners of the Manhattan city.

Lola is taken by surprise with her exes showing up one after another. She tries to figure out what is going on. Irrespective of what alignment brought her exes up once again, it gives Lola an opportunity to answer her many unanswered what-ifs.

Crosley has her own unique way into her essays and fictions. Her works are always entwined with surrealism and mundanity.

Crosley mentions that anyone can close their eyes and think of 12 impactful things in their life if they need to. She asserts that it depends on us whether we consider them as a cocktail party fodder or something as having a larger meaning. She states that, the plot of Cult Classic is similar to that.

Crosley’s latest work tries to explore the prospect of significance in every experience that one comes across. She tries to cite the notion that a coincidence just cannot be a coincidence, but a sign from the universe.

Crosley depicts the present day world in New York, amidst the chaos of infrastructure, billionaires and wages. The idea of how deeply involved we are with tech and tech horror is also a genre of Cult Classic.
