Despite being more than a decade old at this point, Skyrim is still going strong, still beloved by millions the world over. Much of that can be attested to the fan base, particularly those that showcase their dedication to the game through creative endeavors. There are many interesting fan-made Elder Scrolls art projects, as well as mods that tweak and improve the game. In this instance, the partner of one player has taken a particularly devilish NPC and turned them into a somewhat creepy, though still adorable, doll.
Uploading an image to the Skyrim Subreddit recently, user brianfroud is proud to showcase this cool looking figure their partner created, which depicts the Daedric Prince that players encounter during a particularly memorable quest. The detail in the doll is quite spectacular, showing the intricacies of the character’s face, hair, and Daedra armor. They even show them holding the infamous Sanguine Rose that players can achieve during the side quest.
The comments are filled with praises for the creator with one user even going so far as to say they thought it looked like a “child dressed up for Halloween,” the level of detail is so great. The character Sanguine forms the major part of the quest ‘A Night to Remember’ in which players take part in a drinking contest with Sam Guevenne. The player then wakes up later in the Temple of Dibella in Marketh, and it transpires that Sam was the aforementioned Daedric Prince in disguise.
Upon completing the quest, players will receive the Daedric artifact the Sanguine Rose, a useful staff that is, as the name suggests, shaped exactly like a large rose. The image of the doll that brianfroud posted in the Reddit thread depicts this magnificently. All-in-all, the doll may appear a little eerie at first, as some commenters have mentioned, but it’s a stunning piece of work with a lot of effort put into it. The user even says that there is the possibility that more may be on the way, as doll making is something their partner does.
The Daedra forms an interesting part of the lore in Skyrim, and in fact throughout the majority of the Elder Scrolls series. They are regarded as powerful gods and beings, usually inhabiting the world’s version of hell, Oblivion. It’s therefore intriguing, and a little amusing, that someone has taken one of these dangerous characters and reduced them to a fraction of their normal size, and in a pretty cute fashion as well. Although it is still a little bit creepy, but in a good way.
The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim - Anniversary Edition is out now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
