Criminal Minds is a police procedural series that ran for 15 long seasons. The rebooted Criminal Minds Season 16 is currently under negotiations with the 6 original cast members to make a comeback to the show.
The pilot of the show aired on CBS in 2005. The show continued to grow its audience and leave them in awe until the final episode was aired in February 2020.
After a year, Paramount + unveiled that show would renew for Season 16. But after the announcement, the project went back seat and everybody believed that the creators might have pulled the plug.
Later this week the big announcement shook the fans. The streaming platforms revealed that more Criminal Minds is on its way and the project is still under the pipeline.

The lineup of the show evidently changed over time. The original cast included Mandy Patinkin, Thomas Gibson, Lola Glaudini, Shemar Moore, A.J Cook, Kristen Vangness, and Matthew Gray Gubler.
Pre-deadline, Paramount+ is still in the final phase of negotiations with the creator Erica Messer. Having said that, Six cast members would also join the line for the negotiations to make them come back. Joe Mantegna as David Rossi, Kirsten Vangsness as Penelope Garcia, Adam Rodriguez as Luke Alvez, A.J. Cook as Jennifer Jareau, Aisha Tyler as Dr. Tara Lewis, and Paget Brewster as Emily Prentiss, would continue the role they had in Season 15.
The series has been quintessential entertainment. Season 16 is expected to be more of a continuation than a reboot.
