SiriusXM is a broadcasting service that lets subscribers listen to ad-free music, live sports, and talk shows among other things.

Ever since the company completed its acquisition of Pandora, it has become one of the biggest audio entertainment companies in North America.

That said, many recently complained about issues like the Windows app showing a blank white screen and the Android app not working.

And as if this wasn’t troubling enough, those using SiriusXM on Roku are reporting that the app shuts down, turns off, or crashes after a period of time (1,2,3).

Many are still able to use the service for some time before it starts acting up. Common troubleshooting solutions like restarting and reinstalling the app make no difference.

With reports dating to May this year, many are wondering if the problem will be resolved.

Thankfully, SiriusXM Help shed some light on the matter and said the issue is currently under investigation. But there is no ETA for the fix.

Also, we found a temporary workaround that might let users tune into SiriusXM for a couple of hours before it starts acting up.

It involves waiting for the app to stop working and afterwards, pressing the Home button on Roku, scrolling over to Settings > System > Power > and uncheck the ‘After 20 minutes of no interaction’ checkbox under ‘Auto Power savings’.

Restart the system to apply these changes. Although being a temporary workaround means you may have to keep doing this over and over until a permanent solution arrives.

We hope SiriumXM developers soon release an update that fixes the problem. When they do, we will be updating this space to reflect the same so stay tuned.
