Siri, Apple’s voice assistant for iOS, offers a good number of possibilities to make it easy to use various functions on your devices.
For example, one of the most useful features of Siri was the ability to add or edit notes in Notes app by voice, without even having to touch the phone or compatible device.
But, for months now, the feature has been missing, which of course has left those using it disappointed and complaining. To this day, the feature is not to be seen even after the iOS 15.2 update. (1, 2).
Siri can’t add/edit notes in Notes app even after iOS 15.2
According to multiple reports, when users try to add or edit a note through Siri, they get a ‘sorry, I can’t help with that’ message.
The problem reportedly started on iOS 14.8
If user reports are to go by, the problem surfaced after iOS 14.8, while complaints have been coming actively for about 3 months. This conveys the bug has been around for quite some time now.
Apple is allegedly aware; issue persists in iOS 15.2
According to some reports, Apple may already be aware of the bug, as one user points out that, through a call with an Apple supervisor, they managed to find out that the company is changing Siri’s behavior.
The previous report is from mid-November. But, more recent reports indicate that the issue with Siri in Notes app continues in the current iOS 15.2 update.
So, for the moment, affected users can only wait for an official pronouncement. Unfortunately, there doesn’t seem to be any workaround to help mitigate the issue.
