New updates are being added at the bottom of this story…….
Original story (published on July 23, 2021) follows:
The Sims 4: Cottage Living was announced last month and has now been released on all platforms. It is the eleventh expansion pack of its kind.
The expansion is centered on country life and includes various animals like chickens, cows, llamas, wild birds, bunnies, and foxes.
It also introduces a new world – Henford-on-Bagley – which is a rural, UK countryside-inspired world with three neighborhoods and 12 lots.
But that’s not all, as the update brings along several new objects too like animal sheds, canned goods, chicken coops, and more – basically, all things that will help you live the countryside life of your dreams.
Unfortunately, several Sims 4 players have virtually been barred from trying out Cottage Living because of their preorder failing to automatically download the DLC. This happens despite folks getting the “got the packs” notification.
Not only that, but some have also reported payment issues where they get emails asking to update the payment even after already paying for it successfully before.
While a few players were able to resolve their problems simply by performing a reboot, not everyone was as lucky. Still, if you haven’t already tried restarting your system, then that’s the first thing you must try.
Nonetheless, The Sims has already issued an acknowledgment on Twitter about the matter saying that they’re actively working on a solution.
Thus, we should be seeing the issues get resolved on their own, likely without the need for any user intervention.
But if you can’t wait for an official resolution for the Sims 4 Cottage Living preorder issue, then there is a user-suggested workaround that has worked for some and is hence definitely worth a shot.
Yep, with just a tiny bit of hassle, you should be able to play Sims 4 Cottage Living and experience all of its new goodies. Alternatively, you can also try restarting Origin and clearing its cache.
Update 1 (July 24)
11:30 am (IST): EA support has confirmed that the Sims 4 Cottage Living preorder issue has been fixed. Hence, you should now be able to go through with the process as usual.
