India won a record-extending fifth U-19 World Cup title on February 4. The team won by beating England by four wickets in the final of an astonishing campaign that was almost devastated by a COVID-19 outbreak. Shahid Kapoor took to Instagram stories to congratulate the team. The thing that, however, caught our sight was the fact that he used pictures from 2018 to congratulate them. As for team India, congratulations are in order.
Shahid Kapoor himself is doing a film Jersey based on the life of a fictitious character who is a cricketer, who returns to the game of his son’s wish of a jersey, along with Mrunal Thakur and Pankaj Kapoor. It is a sports drama film written and directed by Gowtan Tinnanuri, being his Hindi directorial debut and the remake of his 2019 Telugu film of the same. The film was supposed to release in January 2022 but has been delayed due to the rising cases of the omicron variant across the country. The film is produced by Geetha Arts, Dil Raju Production, Sithara Entertainments and Bart Films.
