The film was ready to release on December 31 after many delays. But due to the rising Covid and Omicron cases in the country, the release date of Jersey has been pushed yet again. The makers of the film have released an official statement about the film. With the rising Covid and Omicron cases in the country, certain states have already started to shut down places of public places such as theatres, spas, gyms, etc. Theatres in Delhi are closed down and Maharashtra cinemas are running on 50 per cent occupancy. The makers have decided to postpone the release of Jersey. In the official statement by the makers it is said, “In view of the current circumstances and new covid guidelines we have decided to postpone the theatrical release of our film Jersey. We have received immense love from you all so far and want to thank you all for everything. Until then everyone please stay safe and healthy, and wishing you all the best for the new year ahead!! Team Jersey!!” Actor Shahid Kapoor also announces this news on his Instagram story.
While the makers are yet to decide on the film’s next release date, rumours are in the air for the OTT release of the film.
