Elijah Wood, who appeared in the “Lord of the Rings” series, has joined the team of “Yellowjackets” season 2 cast on Showtime.
Sources claim that Wood will represent Walter, a passionate Citizen Detective who will confront Christina Ricci’s character Misty in unexpected ways, in a season-long guest appearance.
In addition to Wood, it had already been revealed that Lauren Ambrose would portray grownup Van and Simone Kessell would portray Lottie. The teenage versions of Lottie and Van, played by Courtney Eaton and Liv Hewson, respectively, have been promoted to the main cast for Season 2.
The story of “Yellowjackets” is about a group of exceptionally skilled high school soccer players who escape a plane crash in a far-off region in the north. To show that history is never absolutely done and that what started in the wild is still far from over, the series charts their decline from a complex but thriving group to savage clans. It also follows the lives they have tried to put together nearly 25 years later.
For his leading part as Frodo Baggins in the “Lord of the Rings” movie trilogy, Wood is best known. He is particularly well-known for his parts in the movies “Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind,” “The Faculty,” “Green Street Hooligans,” as well as “Sin City.”
In the past, he worked on TV shows like:
- Wilfred
- Dirk Gently’s Holistic Detective Agency
According to sources, “Yellowjackets” has received 7 Emmy nominations for season 1, notably the best drama series, lead actress for Lynskey, and also a best-supporting actress for Ricci.
