Scote Cooper’s ‘The Pale Blue Eye’ recently dropped its first look to the audience. The film is supposed to feature Christian Bale. 

At the onset, the gothic thriller film will follow a detective on investigation of a series of murders in 1830 with a young cadet by the name of Edgar Allan Poe. 

The film, written and directed by Scote Cooper is adapted from Louis Bayard’s 2006 novel of the same name. 

Christian Bale along with Harry Melling will be the film’s lead along with a large ensemble cast. The two actors will star as detective Augustus Landor and Edgar Allan Poe respectively. 

Although the film is set to release on Netflix on 6 January 2023, there will be a limited theatrical release of the film on December 23, 2022. 

Other notable cast in the film would feature Gillian Anderson, Lucy Boynton, Charlotte Gainsbourg, Toby Jones, Harry Lawtey, Simon McBurney, Timothy Spall, Hadley Robinson, Joey Brooks, Brennan Keel Cook, Gideon Glick, Fred Hechinger, Matt Heim, Steven Maier, Charlie Tahan and Robert Duvall. 

The filming for the upcoming film began late in 2021 on November 29. It was filmed at the historic Compass Inn in Laughlintown, Pennsylvania in November. It continued filming in December at Westminste College in New Wilmington, Pennsylvania.
