Unveiled at CES 2022, the Samsung Smart Monitor M8 is a 32-inch 4K 60Hz monitor. It runs on the in-house developed Tizen OS and comes with a dedicated remote control.

The monitor comes with a height-adjustable stand that can be tilted according to user preference and a removable Full HD Slim Fit Cam. Connectivity options include Bluetooth 4.2, Micro HDMI port, Wi-Fi 5, and two USB Type-C ports.

Users can browse the internet, work on projects, and edit documents all without a PC. That said, many Mac users who bought the recently release Samsung Smart Monitor M8 are now reporting that the webcam is not working or getting detected on their system.

Those affected say that the hardware seems to be working just fine since the camera is accessible via the in-built app. Users say the problem is negatively affecting their productivity.

Here are some reports from Mac users for whom the Samsung Smart Monitor M8 webcam is not working.

While both Apple and Samsung are yet to comment on the problem, we came across a workaround that might help Mac users with the Smart Monitor M8 camera not working issue. It involves disconnecting the HDMI cable and only using the USB-C cablle.

We hope Samsung and Apple work together and fix the problem at the earliest. Rest assured, we will be keeping an eye out for more information and update this space accordingly so make sure you stay tuned.
