Salman Khan is one of the fittest actors in the industry to flaunt his hot and sizzling body on screen. No matter how busy is Salman’s work schedule. He works out atleast for 2 hours everyday. He has shown his bodybuilding frankly in his recent film ‘Antim’. Manish Advilkar, a professional bodybuilder and fitness trainer who has trained Salman for over six years says that the actor takes his routine very seriously. While most people assume that he only focusses on weights the truth is the actor has a very tough cardiovascular routine as well. Actor-producer Arbaaz Khan claims that his brother Salman Khan is the person behind the trend of gyms and fitness gaining rise in the country. He says,” Salman is the one who actually started the gym culture in this country. If you see earlier people did exercise, there were ‘akhadas’ and other gyms but nothing that was state-of-the-art. Salman is the one who revolutionized everything.” When Salman was young he had a lean physique and no biceps. He then hit the gym at the age of 17. Salman Khan was the one to start the trend of six pack abs in Bollywood.
Amir Khan also say, ” If someone has been involved in the bodybuilding in our industry, it is Salman. I am a fan of his fitness. I don’t think my body is as good as Salman’s. He is the original bodybuilder of the industry.” The 51-year-old actor said there is no similarity between the “Dangal” and “Sultan” as their stories are totally different.” Actress Kareena Kapoor Khan also says, “Of course Salman Khan started the trend of six pack abs in Bollywood, but he is fabulous. He is genetically brilliant. He looks good with that kind of body and the roles that he does require the kind of physique he has maintained over the years, but I don’t know why everyone these days wants to have six pack abs with the toned look.”
Starting from the movie ‘Maine Pyar Kiya’ that was released in 1989, you can see how Salman’s build has grown over the years.However, it was only his pectoral muscles which showed some growth with all other muscles lagging way back, If we go around to 1988, it was not until late 90s when one could see a completely developed muscular Salman Khan. Salman had revealed in an earlier interview that after being humiliated by father Salim Khan for his unattractive physique, he joined ‘Bhaiya Gym’, which used to charge just Rs 60 per year. He then joined Bhaiya Gym with his friends including Ronit Roy, Shehzad Khan, Rafiq Kazi and Iqbal among others.
