Saina Nehwal stated on Monday that actor Siddharth Anand’s snide remark after she voiced concerns about Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s recent security lapse was “not pleasant” and that he could have used “better words” in his response.
Saina Nehwal, the world number one in badminton, said on Monday that actor Siddharth Anand’s snide remark after she raised concerns about Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s recent security lapse was “not pleasant” and that he could have used “better words” to comment on the topic.
The National Commission for Women (NCW) has asked Twitter India to “immediately” block Siddharth’s account in response to the Olympic bronze medalist’s post about PM Modi’s security breach.
“I’m not sure what he was saying.” I used to admire him as an actor, but this was not one of his best performances. “I assume it’s Twitter and you stay noticed with such phrases and comments,” Saina, who is also a BJP member, said in a statement.
“If the security of India’s Prime Minister is a concern, I’m not sure what else is safe in the country,” she continued.
Saina had tweeted in response to Modi’s security breakdown during his visit to Punjab:
No nation can claim itself to be safe if the security of its own PM gets compromised. I condemn, in the strongest words possible, the cowardly attack on PM Modi by anarchists.#BharatStandsWithModi #PMModi
