Runescape is one of the largest free MMORPG that was released back in 2001. Developed and published by Jagex, it has more than 200 million accounts.
It is set in the fictional world of Gielinor, a fantasy realm divided into different kingdoms, cities, and regions. Instead of featuring a fixed storyline, the game allows players to set their own objectives.
Players can also interact with each other and indulge in both cooperative and competitive activities. They can also trade or chat with each other.
That being said, Runescape is awarding Twitch Prime subscribers with a Prime Gaming drop. It consists of two Umbral chests with a guaranteed super-rare quality Treasure Hunter prize.
Apart from this, players will also get a currency pack containing 200 Runecoins and 35 Treasure Hunter keys. But Runescape players are now reporting (1,2,3,4,5) that they are getting only 20 Treasure Hunter keys instead of the advertised 35.
Thankfully, a Reddit moderator has commented on the matter and clarified that it was indeed an error on their part. They said that the news post has also been updated to reflect the correct value now.
As it turns out, players will be getting 400 Runecoins instead of 200 and 20 Treasure Hunter keys instead of 35.
But Runescape players are furious over the issue and said that they bought Prime because of this very reason. Some are saying that this is not the first time Runescape developers have made such errors.
We hope Runescape developers learn from their mistakes and fairly compensate players accordingly.
As always, we will be keeping an eye out on the matter and update this space if and when we come across new information so make sure you stay tuned.
