Since the ever-growing battle royale was released over four years ago, Fortnite has continued to be a cultural and gaming juggernaut for PC and console gamers alike. Not only has the game seen many positive updates recently that have ironed out bugs and strengthened the gameplay experience, but it seems that one of Fortnite’s biggest crossover events may just be on the horizon. Famously teased earlier last month by the verified Twitter user Shiina, another leaker now declares that the potential Assassin’s Creed Valhalla crossover with protagonist Eivor Varinsdottir might hit Fortnite a lot sooner than fans expected.

For those who haven’t played the game, Fortnite pits 100 players against each other across a vast island map. By looting their surroundings, players must scavenge for weapons, resources, and even vehicles while fighting to stay alive. This basic yet addictive premise made Fortnite a massive hit sensation with many gamers. However, to keep the gameplay feeling fresh for players who have been around since day one, the developers have regularly updated the game with DLC content. Something of which Fortnite has seen no shortage of, with the game seeing countless collaborations with various prominent franchises.

Keeping the crossovers coming to Fortnite, the game recently presented a new subseries of DLC characters under the “Gaming Legends" variety for Chapter 2, Season 5. Set to bring some of the gaming industry’s biggest mascots and figureheads to the island, players have seen the likes of God of War’s Kratos and Street Fighter’s Chun-Li make an appearance on the battle bus. Now, based on the information in a recent leak, it seems Eivor Varinsdottir from Assassin’s Creed Valhalla may join this roster of legends on April 8.

Posted by Twitter user Zatheo in French, the tweet, when translated into English, states that “content creators will receive the Eivor Varinsdottir set tomorrow” before it is distributed to the public later this week. While this is much sooner than most gamers predicted, it does fall in line with the information leaked earlier last month regarding Eivor’s inclusion in Fortnite. On top of this, as pointed out by several users in the reply section, the tweet uses only the female version of Eivor’s surname, meaning that the male protagonist Eivor option might not be making an appearance in Fortnite.

Regardless, since Assassin’s Creed Valhalla was released in November 2020, fans of the game had a strong liking for Eivor Varinsdottir’s personality and character design, so her appearance will likely entice many players to Fortnite on April 8. With that said, like all leaks, it should be taken with skepticism until any official announcements are made by Epic Games.

Fortnite is now available for Android, PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
