Down in a Hole, the last episode of Roswell, New Mexico Season 4, was directed by Aprill Winney and written by Ashley Charbonnet and Sarah Tarkoff. In the episode, which aired on Monday, August 15, Bonnie awoke in the pocket dimension by herself before coming across Dallas, who told her that Theo had established the dimension & left him a welcoming hologram with guidelines.
Despite the fever dream, Liz came back to work and told Shivani that she had improved cognitive abilities and wanted to concentrate on more study, but that they first needed to collect more alien mist. Isobel learned through Tezca that Jones had given Theo a task to discover a route back to Earth and that this route was kept inside the pocket dimension.
When Kyle returned from Careyes with a box, it opened and joined itself to Michael’s console, nearly completing it. Isobel drew Tezca into a mindscape so she could battle Jones and confront her fears, but when she was overcome with memories of all the people she had slain, the lesson was over.
Rosa advised Maria to sense where Alex, Bonnie, and Dallas were in order to help her get used to her new skills. Then, in a flash, she caught Dallas and Bonnie by the Roswell sign. There, beneath the sand in the pocket realm, Dallas and Bonnie discovered a box identical to Kyle’s.
Liz was caught by Max trying to collect fluid from the pods, and she and Shivani later breathed in the mist to create a serum that successfully brought the frog back to life. Dallas went to the barn with Bonnie, and there he discovered a record with an alien insignia on it. Rosa and Maria went to the Roswell sign, where she saw Dallas and Bonnie again in a flash.
Dallas and Bonnie discovered a portal in Roswell, New Mexico, and the box was drawn to a mass of stone nearby. Maria, who was on a coordinating stone slab on Earth, caused a wave to be set off, allowing a flash to occur on the other side of the portal. Rosa confronted Liz for continuing to take the mist when she went to get blood since she required it for her studies. She then voiced her worries to Max, who confronted Liz.
Tezca informed Isobel that there was a lock upon that prototype Theo constructed to transport them home and that it was kept in the pocket dimension as part of her desire to atone by aiding the offspring of those she had injured. Dallas tapped on an extraterrestrial glass fragment that had emerged from the box, and he and Michael exchanged morse code by tapping the fragments. They spoke with Maria and then went to where she was on the portal.
Liz terminated her association with Shivani, and Max went to Isobel to ask for assistance in regaining his powers. The gateway was opened when Michael placed the console on the stone slab and linked the piece from a different dimension to it. Then, Michael, Dallas, and Bonnie went into the pocket dimension to search for Alex.
