New updates are being added at the bottom of this story…….
Original story (published on December 06, 2021) follows:
Currently, many TV channels have their own app to have a presence on all kinds of compatible devices.
One of these channels is Hallmark TV, whose app is available through platforms such as the Google Play Store, Apple AppStore, and Roku.
But, it seems that the Hallmark TV app on Roku is not working properly, according to multiple reports.
Hallmark TV app users on Roku cannot see the last minutes of their movies
Hallmark TV app on Roku users report that the service is auto-playing the next movie even before the movie they are currently watching ends.
The user further adds:
Several times over the past few days I have tried to catch up on a few of the new movies that premiered on #Hallmark Channel this weekend. They are only available to view on the Roku app for a few days. After watching nearly the whole movie each time (there was about 10-15 minutes left), I’d see a spinning circle like something was loading and a completely different movie would start to play.
The problem reportedly occurs within the last 5 or 10 minutes of each movie. Also, the fast-forwarding feature is not available, so going back to the previous movie is not a solution.
I have done all the software updates and rebooted the system etc.
Roku Ultra 4800X brand new, 10.5, build 4201-C2, ID S02A217EG1F4 Source
Still no official statement on the matter
The aforementioned problem apparently started in the last few days. At the moment, there does not appear to be any official announcement to the respect, neither from Hallmark TV nor from Roku.
Additionally, some users report that after trying to contact Hallmark TV, they get no response.
Taking into account the above, it is not yet known if both platforms are aware of the reports. If there is any new development in this regard, we will update this article as soon as possible. So, stay tuned.
Update 1 (December 11)
02:00 pm IST: A community export on the forum said that this issue won’t fix until Hallmark devs fix it. This is a Hallmark issue with the coding of their channel on Roku.
