New updates are being added at the bottom of this story…….

Original story (published on November 18, 2021) follows:

Roku is one of the most popular Smart TV platforms out there. However, lately it has been experiencing many operating problems.

Roku users are reporting that some apps are not working well, throw network errors or just crash. Everything would have started after a recent update.

Some apps not opening, crashing or giving network error on Roku devices

According to user reports, some apps on Roku started to take a long time to open, while others never did it.

Also, nothing that affected users have tried to resolve the problems has worked. Neither router reboots nor a factory reset to the device managed to help.

Roku’s v10.5 update reportedly brought the issues

The problems reportedly started after the arrival of the v10.5 Roku update. This update seems to have been forced by the devices, so users could not have avoided it.

Reports of network errors and app crashes on Roku had already emerged for several months. In those cases, the apps involved will be HBO Max and ESPN+.

At the moment, there is no official statement from Roku on the matter. Therefore, it is not known if they are aware of the problem, or if they are working to fix it.
