Resident Evil Village runs on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X at the same resolution, but it seems like Microsoft’s next-gen console has way less trouble running the game with ray tracing on.
A new video analysis based on the final demo shared on YouTube by ElAnalistaDeBits confirms that the game runs more smoothly on Xbox Series X with ray tracing on, with fewer drops compared to the PlayStation 5 version. Playing with ray tracing is definitely not the way to go on Xbox Series S, as the game runs at an average of 40 FPS on the console with ray tracing and at solid 60 FPS without ray tracing.
For the rest, it seems like there are major differences between the three Resident Evil Village versions, as shadow and texture quality and anisotropic filtering are identical.
Resident Evil Village launches this week, on May 7th, on PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series X, Xbox One, and Google Stadia worldwide.
