iFit update bricked NordicTrack treadmills
The recent iFit update that was rolled out in December has caused major issues for users of NordicTrack and Proform treadmills.
Some have reported (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8) that their treadmills have bricked as a result of the update, with the screens frozen on the iFit logo.
The issue has been widely reported by users across social media platforms and online forums, with many expressing frustration at the lack of response from iFit and NordicTrack.
The problem appears to be related to a software update that was pushed out to users’ treadmills, which has caused the machines to become inoperable.
The cause of the problem is not yet known, but it appears to be affecting a wide range of models of NordicTrack treadmills.
As a result of the issues caused by the iFit update, a class action lawsuit has been filed against the company.
The lawsuit, which was filed by the Sauder Schelkopf law firm, alleges that the software update left fitness equipment totally inoperable and that iFit failed to properly test the update before releasing it to users.
The lawsuit also claims that iFit failed to provide adequate support to users who were affected by the update and has resulted in a very inconvenient situation for those who rely on their treadmills for daily exercise.
The official complaint can be viewed or found here.
Some have reported that they have been without their treadmill for sometime now, and have not yet been able to get a replacement or get in touch with the support team. Source
On the other hand, some have reported that they have been offered a replacement machine through a chat with the support team.
Even after multiple complaints and a class action lawsuit against iFit, the company has yet to provide a proper solution for this problem.
So if anyone else is still trying to navigate this, maybe try the chat and DONT pay for a new console, even if your machine is out of warranty. Source
We hope that the problem is readily taken into consideration and iFit provides a solution for the bricked NordicTrack treadmills.
